Being traumatized is not just an issue of being stuck in the past; it is just as much a problem of not being fully alive in the present.

My Approach to Trauma Recovery:

Helping You To Access Innate Capacities to Heal

I'm here to support you on your journey to healing and well-being. My approach combines ancient mind-body wisdom traditions with the latest neuroscience-based approaches to trauma healing.

What does this mean for you? We'll use a mix of talking, body-inclusive modalities, and creative methods like art to help you recover. You'll learn to tap into your body's natural ability to heal, working with both your conscious thoughts and subconscious feelings.

Some of the techniques we might use include EMDR, which helps your brain process traumatic memories; Somatic Experiencing, where you learn to listen to and work with your body to complete thwarted defensive responses and promote recovery; and Art Therapy, which uses creativity to express and process through deeply held material in a powerful way; and mindfulness practice, which helps you to stay more present and focused on what is happening now instead of replaying conditioned patterns from the past.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT 86889) with expertise in trauma resolution, I'm here to guide you through this life changing process. We'll discover what works best for you, helping you not just recover, but truly flourish. I'm excited to hear your story and help you on your path to healing and breaking the cycle of traumatic reliving that is keeping you stuck.

There is hope.

Break Free from Traumatic Survival Patterns:

Dealing with trauma can feel like you're frozen or trapped in a never-ending cycle. It's like you keep falling in the same hole over and over, making it harder to:

  • Feel close to people

  • Enjoy deep connections with others

  • Appreciate yourself, love yourself

  • Feel safe in the world

  • Believe in yourself or your abilities

  • Trust other people or the world

  • Believe that you matter

But here's the good news: With support and the right tools, you can break free from these repetitive patterns. It's about teaching your body and mind new ways to respond to life, and rediscovering your inner resources, your true self.

Remember, breaking the cycle is possible, and every small step towards change counts. You deserve to write a new chapter in your life story.
